# Idea: How else get into the future other than traveling near the speed of light

Idea: How else get into the future other than traveling near the speed of light

I am writing here because recently I got an Theory how else to get into the future other than traveling fast, or near the speed of light by effects of time dilation and I want to know if this could work in physics. By all sources and books it can but I`m asking you if there is something wrong with this.

I want to keep this as simple as possible :)

We know in theory when approaching black hole and its event horizon:
There are two observers, one of them is outside even horizon (Observer A) and one of them is approaching even horizon (Observer B).
In theory observer B will approach even horizon, and as he approaches he slows down from the view of Observer A until he reaches point of no return and will stay there forever from the view of Observer A. But from the view of Observer B he-himself will pass even horizon.

The theory was our space traveler-Observer B will approach even horizon and as he goes further, time in our universe will pass and pass but for him it will pass slower until he reaches even horizon in that point, yes there will be no return point unless he would go faster than speed of light. But in the future, if our technology will allow this, when observer B reaches certain range from even horizon
( that depends how much he wants time to pass) he wont go out of even horizon by speeding up, but simply he will "turn the black hole off''(its singularity), either destroy the black hole(or their made artificial black hole) or somehow turn their artificial hole off with their technology.
This was my theory, I am not a scientist nor Astrophysicist, it was just my little hobby for some time and I got many ideas in those times :)

I know this cannot be done by any means with current technology but maybe in thousands of years our civilization will have technology capable of such things. Maybe we will never know how to go fast enough for time dilation to be strong enough to "slow time down inside traveling rocket" in order to have bigger effect and not be younger only few seconds than our twins o.O we could use black holes` even horizons to travel further in time.

The problem with time-travelling into the future is that it requires some form of acceleration (e.g. you need to accelerate to stay outside the event horizon of a blackhole), and the human body just isn't able to withstand large accelerations. One other form of time-travelling into the future is through some sort of cryogenic suspension.

Yes I know that, as I said this method would be used in thousands years from now so, If humanity would be able to create artificial singularity, there would be no problem to have some shielding or really resistant capsule.

Also you would not accelerate from the horizon you would just "turn the hole off" when you get too close to it to have significant effect how much time you want to pass.

But that isn't possible, now or ever. The laws of physics just won't allow it. In order to go from a region of "slow" time to a region of "normal" time, it must involve doing work against an apparent force. That is the nature of time dilation - the acceleration associated with the apparent force is the gradient of the rate of time.

And if we turn off the ocean we can farm on the bottom of the sea. There is no theoretical way to shut off a black hole. This is not a question of needing to develope technology. Build a bridge between continents, thats a question of developing the technology. We can't do it yet but we can immagine how in could be done. But there is no even theoretical way to turn off a black hole or to mimic the effect of one.

You may take this to imply that gravity as it is commonly known, including artificial gravity, doesn't merely cause time dilation... it IS time dilation.

The ability to "turn off a singularity" isn't just a matter of having the technology, it would require changing the rules of physics themselves. Even if we were to assume that in some distant future our understanding of these rules have changed enough to allow for such, we have no way of predicting the outcome, because we have no idea of what these new rules would say happen under those circumstances. You can't apply today's understanding of physics to some future unknown understanding of physics.
