I think what he is trying to say is that points and lines are really just two aspects of the same object; he then proceeds to show relationships between the two when you cut and re-assemble lines in various ways. It's basically topology.
That's how I understand it anyway...I might be completely wrong though :shock:

Yes, this is how I understand your notation. The thing is, how is that different from standard mathematics ? We already know that points in a plane ( or along a line ) can be described as vectors, or even just as complex numbers with a real and imaginary part.
So what is different and new about your notation ( apart from it being, in my mind, rather cumbersome ) ?
