Lots of things in the News right now about this bird flu.

    Details here:

I am curious as to how this bird virus became transfereable to humans. I thought animals and humans rarely shared illness's.

it is not very common, but it is also not unheard off.

Then again, who knows what all the biological weapons labs are doing. After 9/11 the US even increased funding of said research of course for the sake of 'counter-terrorism'.

bird flue is in your heads because is a bullshit not real !
    Solomon Grundy
In 1944, this creature rose from the swamp, with tremendous strength and some dormant memories that for example allowed him to speak English, but not knowing what he was, and not remembering Cyrus Gold or his fate. Wandering throughout the swamp, he encountered two escaped criminals, killed them, and took their clothes. When they asked him his name, he simply muttered that he had been born on Monday. Reminded of an old nursery rhyme about a man born on Monday, the thugs named the creature "Solomon Grundy".

Please sort out your English. Use a spellchecker or something!

Anyway, your point about there being no strain of avian flu which is transmissible between human's is correct, for now. As we know virus's have a high rate of mutation - its one of the reasons many of them cannot be stopped by vaccine and some (common flu virus) have too be constantly updated with new vaccines due to transgenic shift.

The place of most concern is it SE Asia, in which birds and human live in very close quarters. I was lucky enough to see this situation first hand in the markets of Bangkok, Thailand. In this situation, it is rather obvious that the H5N1 strain of the virus will become possible of human to human transmission due to survival of the fittest. Avian influenza hemagglutinin bind alpha 2-3 sialic acid receptors while human influenza hemagglutinin bind alpha 2-6 sialic acid receptors. This is why there are teams of Veterinarians, Medics and Health specialists stationed all over SE Asia to hopefully control outbreaks of H5N1 and observe any changes in the virus' Aetiology.

Wikipedia has a very good article on some of the major points about the H5N1 strain, give it a read.

This will be not a very effective biological weapon because bird flu is just now a common disease treatment to it is now available in the market

    How about Ebola ?

    (post edited) :

Since no one has posted anything, in these thread, in order to not make new posts that can reflect in my post count (to not annoy those who are worried about post counts), I simply edited this post for what I`m going to say.

In war, there is many forms to inflict damage to your enemy, being the most obvious one, the actual killing of it, but there is also another form of inflicting damage to it by not necessarily killing it, but by producing total chaos in your enemies organization. This is main principle used by terrorism for instance, where the drainage of resources due to the fear inflicted, annoys your enemy , forcing it to worry on issues that otherwise, it wouldn`t affect him if you simply kill him. For obtaining a triumph by killing, you must kill "all "your enemies, which would be a very long and also expensive war. So the use of biological weapons, not always pursues the killing of your enemy but to inflict the damage in your enemies economy and specially in its organization.

Where do I want to get with this post ?.

Patience, Im getting there now.(:P )
The use of botullinic toxin, kills your enemy, but the damage done to your enemies organization is minimal compared to an outbreak of a highly contagious, pathogenic (that produces problems to your health) disease, and probably also death in the long term if not treated, which if not controled properly, will continue producing damage to your enemy, damaging its economy, political organization, and most of all psychologically all the time throughout the war with you. The problem that can produce these kind of weapons, is that if you don`t have a cure for the disease you are spreading, it is very likely that it will also affect you in the long term, because the disease is not selective on the ones who it is going to attack, if your enemy ever isn`t able to control the disease, you will have won the war against them, but the spreading of the disease could probably reach levels of a global pandemia, finally also reaching you. ()

I really hope that no stupid person being in the position to "trigger" this kind of weapon, ever think that he has all controlled, and does it. The lesson we must all get from this, is that we are not gods, and that in our imperfection, we can`t always play or sin on arrogance, thinking that we are.
