How does science prepare for moments like this, an event that seems to contradict whatís trending (ie global warming)? Iím talking about dealing with John Q Public and the naysayers, all of which includes govít officials.

All that belongs to human understanding, in this deep ignorance and obscurity, is to be skeptical, or at least cautious; and not to admit of any hypothesis, whatsoever; much less, of any which is supported by no appearance of probability...Hume

I suppose that in the end you have to take the long view - is this the start of a trend reversal or just a blip ?

I think that finding out that one glacier somewhere is actually growing, and getting all excited about it, is a very strong indication that we are losing ice very rapidly.

If we weren't seeing such a rapid warming, around half the glaciers would be growing at any given time.
