id guess its unwise for a superpower to meddle in the lives of another superpower

Tit for tat political tactics been going on for centuries--it is completely in our interesting that the Ukraine figure out how to become a representative freedom loving nation with enough rule of law so Western nations don't need to bail out their economic mess every few years.

True...but not applicable now since there is only one superpower.

I sure hope you're right. I would hate to see the world go to war over the Ukraine.

If the so called European Union ( EU ) had not started meddling in the affairs of Ukraine, this shit storm may not have come to pass.

The U.S. has little real interest in the Ukraine. There are two primary reasons the U.S. constantly interferes in the Middle East -- oil and zion. The Ukraine has nothing equivalent. The Ukraine region is also much less accessible to the U.S. than than the Middle East.

I think this probably true, but America can't simply ignore what is happening in the Ukraine, it has wider implications for other countries close to or bordering Russia. Countries of which have a far greater strategic value to the US and even Nato members who have all become very nervous over just what is happening in the Ukraine.

In terms of world war 3, I kind of tend to think this is perhaps a little to apocalyptic a scenario to become a reality, I think before it got to that stage sanity would prevail. But perhaps a far realistic and of greater concern is that of Ukrainian civil war destabilising the whole region and the setting back decades for the state of dimplomatic relations between Russia and the West.

I doubt that the situation in Ukraine would be seen as a justification for going to war. But there still seems to be a fundamental divide between the West and Russia and this is potentially dangerous. There should be an attempt at reconciliation and cooperation between Russia and the West. My feeling is that the West isn't doing as much as it should be doing in this.

I get quite sour and cynical about this. The one thing that keeps everyone walking a tightrope when dealing with Russia is its gas and oil resources.

If the whole of Europe, including Ukraine, had got on the same page as Germany a decade ago with investing in renewable energy, Russia wouldn't be in the position of being able to bankrupt Ukraine itself and it would have to cajole, negotiate, reward, offer discounts, be very, very nice to get other countries to take more/ some/ any of their gas rather than holding them hostage to the fear of price rises or turning the tap off entirely.

    But that's just me.

That's quite a statement , can you back it up with facts or is it only your opinion about what you say?

You were the one who made the claim so it is your responsibility to prove what you claim is true, not me.

That's a bit like saying, that if UK and France hadn't made an alliance with Poland, then world war two wouldn't have broken out.

The only transgression the EU has done here is to attract the desire of the general Ukrainian population (including the Russian speaking part) and even its politicians to be European and not Asian. Aparently that was the last insult for Moskva. "That is our interest sphere! Mine! Mine! Mine!"
