Are there a lot of taxes on cars in the UK? Being a car fanatic, I couldn't handle that.

I watch a lot of Top Gear UK and they're always grumbling about new car taxes.

Well, Clarkson is an idiot. Entertaining, but an idiot. I love watching him, but I do have to chuckle when he gets on his anti-environment rants. They've toned down over the years, though.

I have found that the more Brits I meet, the more I like them. Would like to visit the last bastion of civilization sometime.

Hey you want to vist one the Top Gear live shows, way way cool, we had a great day out, I know Jeremy Clarkson can act like an idiot on tv at times but usually this is part of his on screen persona, he actually has a massive fan base here in the UK. Lots of people are really inspired by the way he just says and does what he wants, he isn't in any way PC, but equally there are a bunch of women who claim to be feminists who absolutely hate him and everything he represents, they have their view of the way men should behave and he doesn't care. James May got voted the bloke most people would like to have a pint with down the pub. Really though you have to say they have the best job, spending all their time playing around with cars and having a laugh, does life really get any better than that

Oh man I would LOVE to attend a taping. Top Gear UK is one of my absolute favorite shows. The American version is insultingly poor in comparison.

I'd definitely like to shake hands with the guys and tell them we backwards Americans are big fans. Considering my general dislike of American cars, I'm sure I could fit in.

As for Jeremy not being PC, I haven't met a Brit who was. You guys tell it like it is. It's actually refreshing considering you can't say anything in America without someone being offended.

Hey Flick, Top Gear do live shows across the world, not just the tv series filming. You can actually get free bbc tickets to watching them filming for the tv shows. But the Top Gear Live shows are slightly different, these are usually a combination of lots of things like car show, stunt driving, monster trucks, etc... and then Jeremy, James and Richard come down and put on a show for the assembled audience, the one we went to was at the NEC in birmingham, part of a car show and the live event lasted at 90 minutes, it really was well worth going cracking event.

How can we ever balance the books, when the UK is being overwhelmed, by mass immigration from Eastern Europe ?

Well I agree this is a problem, but the real problem is we are failing to create sufficient job opportunities and invest in businesses, if we solves these issues then we'll be fine.

Are you talking about job opportunities for immigrants, or job opportunities for the indigenous population? The unemployment rate in the Euro Zone is at a record high.

The truth is here we need both, if we have immigrants living here they need jobs just as much as everybody else. What we need to be doing is having an immigration policy based on how able we are to create job opportunities. All this talk about Britain being full up or overcrowded is quite frankly nonesense, we use less than 9% of the available land for human habitation here, so we could quite easily accommodate many 10's of millions more people. The problem though is actively intergrating people to become functional and productive members of society. This is a problem we are having with so many of the people that are already actually here. The government is failing to make the most of the skills and abilities of the people within our country, and so many of the people themselves haven't got the opportunities to do anything worthwhile or productive, they are becoming a wasted generation that can't contribute and are being denied any real life chances. This is a problem of the governments making as they are the ones failing in their responsibility to these people and costing and each and everyone of us in the process, so the blame is placed squarely at their doorstep.
