So, there was a news in the advancement of the battery life of the cell phone. Which could last really long almost for indefinite time period and gets charged in seconds. This is some revolutionary step in battery life.

I hardly use a cell phone that it's not big deal from that perspective. I can imagine this scaled up a bit to things I do use. A netbook or MP3 player that I can use everyday for a week between charges for example.

You could have been a bit more descriptive in your title like "very long life batteries".

Graphene isn't exactly new and neither is all the hype about it. I will be glad when it's promise starts paying off, but not sure I want to hear the hype about how soon I can start benefiting from it.

That's true form your view, but think about people dealing with day to day continous work, like businessman and all. Soo, easy there for them and everyone.

Most, of the inventions in the world are always used to invent something from the former. So, the research work carried by them is really appreciable. So, none of the inventions can be called "that's not something impressive !!"
.The Graphene you just mentioned is predicted to replace silicon in computers and all, because of its better potentia than silicon and all. Even this was made from previous invention.

I don't disagree with what you just said, but I just don't like these articles that get you all excited about some new major benefit that should be available real soon, and then 5 or 6 years down the road you are still hearing the same BS.

Yes, well said !! Things you just mentioned do happen in real, in medical or non-medical fields. I have had read many such articles few years back, but no successful conclusion seen till date.
So, it could be only said that, expectations should be well balanced with the astonishment.
