Thread: killing cancer tumors by preventing blood vessel formation

ScienceDaily (Apr. 5, 2011) — Scientists from the School of Pharmacy at Queen's University Belfast and Almac Discovery Ltd have developed a new treatment for cancer which rather than attacking tumours directly, prevents the growth of new blood vessels in tumours, starving them of oxygen and nutrients, thereby preventing their growth.

I think this is a great step in the medical battle against cancer. Though it doesn't offer a treatment yet, it is a very promising result.
