would it be possible to develop a dense proton field around an object or person so that anything trying to pierce the field would become positively charged and then repelled by the rest of the field to effectively create a shield around the said object, and the only way to get by the shield would be to create an equally dense electron field to neutralize the shield before attempting to penetrate?

and as an extra option, you may have a dense electron field closer to the object in order to have double but opposite protection from penetration, the only problem would be to keep the fields from neutralizing each other, perhaps a neutron field between that is sufficiently dense would prevent such an effect.... or perhaps just elements that resist taking on any extra particles would do this also....

I may not yet have learned all that I want to, but I can think up alot on my own...

That's excellent thinking. But what would project the shield? I mean, what would define its radius?

It would require allot of energy to give it power enough to do what you want. It would dissapate also rather quickly also.

what if the shield is used at a precise time to negate the effect of a critical blow that could cripple the vehicle

the shield could protect whatever it was used for as long as it had enough energy

I read something like this technology, but it hadn't been made yet. I think I saw it on t.v. They didn't use protons and neutrons thou. I really don't remember much about it. I'll do some research on it later. Good idea thou.

What if the projectile was going to hit the wheels of the vehicle, I don't think this technology could prevent the whole vehicle from being hit and again it would require enormous amounts of energy to do such a thing for the entire vehicle.

You would need such extreme amounts of power just to deflect a BB gun. Even at that I doubt it would stop it, perhaps slow it down.

The Israeli's used explosive armor on some of their tanks that would explode outward on contact with a shell. This would prevent the tank from being penetrated. Equal and opposite reaction. What your suggesting is not powerful enough. Perhaps a thousand years from now when we have unlimited power.

Maybe by then humans will evolve enough to stop killing and conflicts.

Maybe when STAR GATE series ends and all that cool stuff that GOUAL'D use comes avaiable on open market

Oh and serious answer to a Q : Khm.. yes.. possibilities are. But ull need a reactor in ur backpack to power it.. But there is always a chance for a meltdown ..

I read sompthing about the US or some other contry is desining a tank with an ETC gun and electromagnetic armor. Aperently it's aledy beeing tested. The armor is powered by about 93 AA batterys and run for about 5-10 min.(sory if there is bad spelling)

Not just Izraelis... just everybody nowadays.. Ita called "active armour".

Anyway.. i seen a documentary on "future warriors" where they talked how will future warrior look like. He is supposed to havean double layer overall which wolud fit his body 100%. In between the two layers there should be a some sort of substance... that would float around.. upon shot being fired on the wearer.. the substance would quickly form a impregnable, concrete layer on the point of impact... thus preventing the overall to be penterated by bullet or similar...

    Back to topic..:

Previously writen can be adjusted to talk here:

Need to have some sort of an material. that can quickly react, quickly form a unpenetratable obstacle, and that can be easily transportable by a human wearer. And cannot be affected by anything on Earth (if possible). If you can have such form of a generator that could form such sort of a forcefield. then its easy...Magnetism probably would not work.. bullets r made of metal..

Thats intelligent thinking. But wont the atoms which will make up the person or object get affected by the sheild.

    great idea!
neglecting the power required to run this shield.it would need an very mechanism to trigger it so as to deflect an projectile travelling at a speed equal or more than the speed of sound because there would be an lot of wastage of energy and it it will have to be very powerful to charge the surrounding atoms and for deflecting it we would need another positive field so as to deflect it.since there has to be an instant reacting an an difference timing between boh the fields.it would need an super-computer to process all information of disance timing an to trigger the mechanism.

You would require a power source that is extremely powerful to maintain the shield, and it would be very difficult to get the protons to form a shield shape.

    An interesting idea indeed.

However, one problem I can forsee is that any object with a high atomic density aproaching the proton shield itself, would have all its internal protons repelled and all the internal electrons attracted. It would therefore gain an innate charge.

This charge would pull it closer to the shield and the effect would be amplified.

This would gradually accelerate the object until it hit the shield user in the face.

A more simple shield is a security id card. If a person does not have one, they should not go near that person or should be careful. And a code saying they are for peace.

Was that the same magazine with the article about how history would be different if the Mayflower had a diesel engine?

How would you shield the wearer, or occupants of a ship, from the shield? If you can repel protons with enough force to contain a cloud of them how about the protons in the coil or whatever makes this field.

To stop a bullet you have to apply the force it took to accelerate it, in whatever barrel length it used, in your shield. Impulse would be awesome.

It would be easily defeated by anything that travels at the speed of light, such as a high powered laser. Assuming it is bound by all known laws of physics, It would be impossible for it to detect or deploy faster than the speed of light.
