I want to know what to major in specifically.
I want to design and build robots, and machines of war for the US military.
A good example of what i want to do is the Terminator movies.
I want to create those machines.

    Engineering, yes, i know.
I want to know what exactly it is that this catagory falls under.

electrical engineering with a focus on robotics

to make yourself as usefull as possible, focus as much as possible, don't intend to do both the designing and the building, unless that's how things are usually done. Id assume designers work closely with engineers to determine cost effectiveness of accomplishing some intended goal. I don't have to do much research to know that you will have a lot of work to do before any military organization will pay you to design and build robots on your own, you will be working with groups of specialists, and you should be a specialist as well, unless you want to be a project manager, in which case you should still specialize somewhat, and learn just enough about every aspect necessary to communicate effectively with the specialists in other fields.

A lot of Universities have an extracurricular "Robotics Club" and sometimes these clubs will compete on a national level. I know OSU here in Oregon has one. You might try stopping by at a local campus and asking about it. I'm sure the people in those clubs could steer you in the right direction.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's probably mechanical engineering. Unless you want to focus on the guidance/control systems for it, and then it would be electrical engineering.
