ramjet falls from a position, ramjet activates, ramjet returns to a position and then repeats.
or
what say the ramjet is pushed from b platform at a position, ramjet activates, ramjet is pushed back to a position / b platform.

What?
What are positions a and b?
Presumably there's supposed to be a diagram.
And why are you referring to ramjets when the thread title is scramjets?
Edit: by the way, ramjets or scramjets for VTOL?
Not in a million years.
pos a and b are Positions. a and b are just placeholders meant to represent some unidentified position in space. I didn't know the diffrence between scram and ram jets. They are both the same from what I understand.
Hmm, I wonder if this could be what these use for deceleration.

In other words useless as far as explaining anything.
If you'd actually read that link you'd have seen the difference: scramjet is a variant of a ramjet airbreathing jet engine in which combustion takes place in supersonic airflow.I didn't know the diffrence between scram and ram jets. They are both the same from what I understand.
A ramjet will not work with supersonic (intake) airflow.
