So I was wondering exactly why double railroad tracks are needed on bridges
I think you also see these double tracks on very sharp turns..

Yes, believe it or not, I was once a great railwayman/boy. The love of the Rail never leaves you. Especially if you are a Steam Rail man. To have a go at your question; could it be for extra ballast, the tram line being without normal embankment stability? My friend, John Galt, may like to have a go at this. westwind.

Well I've heard people say things like how it stabilizes the train.. But Im just wondering why only on bridges?

I'm going to take a wild guess. They are for two separate sets of tracks to cross the same bridge, so you wouldn't have to make the bridge wide enough to accommodate two trains at once. Let the trains pass one another somewhere else.

I actually doubt that, it's highly unlikely to risk accidents just to save space on a bridge :O
