When reading about the manufacturing of lateral-flow diagnostic tests, the term "web-based" apears, as in "web-based (reel-to-reel) manufacturing processes". What does it mean?
It seems to be an assembly line kind of process where things like diagnostic test strips or electronic items are assembled on a moving belt of material. Have a look at this video.

Alternatively, it could be a manufacturing process which is controlled/monitored through a web (browser) interface? Without seeing the context, it is hard to know.
