    I'm wondering how a wind turbine can capture / harness the kinetic energy from spinning. How do u get the energy from the spinning act harness that and transfer it out. More specifically I want to know how to harness it in a literal aspect. If anyone knows I'd appreciate an answer!

    The spinning turbine is connected to a generator through a gearbox. This is all contained in the nacelle at the top of the tower. Electricity flows from the generator to transformers at grade and from there to the grid. Gearboxes currently are the high maintenance component and direct drive transmissions are being developed to eliminate the gearbox. Despite BP's relatively limited interest in renewables, they have made this pretty good little video:
