# Thread: Can Anyone help me in this//

1. currently im studying statistic....can i anyone here help me to prove this...i want a prove about these formulas..

the statements are written
Effects on measures of dispersion when a set of data is changed uniformly by
(i)adding or substracting a constant K,the measures of dispersion of the set of new data are unchanged.
(ii)multiplying by a constant K,then
new interquartile range=K *(original interquartile range)
new standard deviation=K *(original standard deviation)
new variace
=K^2 *(original variance)

i dont want exact examples for to prove these formulas...i want it in the forms of unknowns...

guys...can anyone tell me what's the difference between population standard deviation and sample standard deviation

i just know that..population standard deviation is denoted by a symbol (lowercase sigma) which looks like an o with a tail on it..

and sample standard deviation is denoted by a symbol s.

can anyone tell me what's the difference between them
