    From the ff: equations:

    ................factors .... products.................. variables

    ...............z e r o = 0.....................................a = ?
    .................o n e = 1.....................................b = ?
    .................t w o = 2.....................................d = ?
    .............t h r e e = 3.....................................e = ?
    ................f o u r = 4......................................f = ?
    .................f i v e = 5.....................................g = ?
    ...................s i x = 6.....................................h = ?
    ............s e v e n = 7......................................i = ?
    .............e i g h t = 8.......................................l = ?
    ...............n i n e = 9......................................m = ?
    ..................t e n = 10....................................n = ?
    ..........t w e l v e = 12....................................o = ?
    ..........t w e n t y = 20....................................r = ?
    ......... .....f o r t y= 40....................................s = ?
    ..............
    s i x t y = 60.....................................t = ?
    ......s e v e n t y = 70.....................................u = ?
    ..........n i n e t y = 90.....................................v = ?
    ...3 h u n d r e d = 300..................................w = ?
    5 t h o u s a n d = 5000.................................x = ?
    ......8 m i l l i o n = 8000000............................y = ?
    .......1 b i l l i o n = 1000000000......................z = ?

    I got values for each letter by trial and error using excel yet i wanted to
    know if there are other solution sets for this type of problem . Is there a
    unique values for all the factors or any of them? If number of unknown is
    same as that of equations should I assume values?

    I donít know which question you want me to clarify.
    Anyway I got answer to the first one's.
    ..if any of them are unique ?

    z = 0

    sixty = 60
    6ty = 60
    ty = 10
    twenty = 20
    twen = 2
    tenw = 2
    10w = 2
    w = 0.2

    two = 2
    10one = ten
    10o = t
    10o (0.2) o = 2
    oo = 1
    o = 1

    10o = t
    t = 10

    ty = 10
    y = 1

    hi mathman,
    I got it now...as for the last question , i figured out that the number of equations needed
    as for the above problem is less than the number of unknown (a,b,d,...x,y,z) because equations:
    sixty = 60
    seventy = 70
    ninety = 90
    are equivalent equations rendering same ty=10 so this is why i assumed values for 2 variables to obtain a
    solution. Actually 19 equations for 21 variables make lots of solution sets (a,b,d,...x,y,z) although some
    values are unique like z,w,t,y,o,u. But i have resolved this by replacing the 2 equations above with
    fifteen = 15 and thirty = 30 while simplifying the higher numbers below :

    a = ? ______________ z e r o = 0
    b = ? _______________
    o n e = 1
    d = ?________________t w o = 2
    e = ?_____________ t h r e e = 3
    f = ? _______________f o u r = 4
    g = ? _______________f i v e = 5
    h = ? ________________ s i x = 6
    i = ? _____________ s e v e n = 7
    l = ? ______________e i g h t = 8
    m = ? ____________ _ n i n e = 9
    n = ?_____________ __ t e n = 10
    o = ? ___________ t w e l v e = 12
    r = ?____________ f i f t e en = 15
    s = ?___________ t w e n t y = 20
    t = ?____________ t h i r t y = 30
    u = ?_____________ f o r t y = 40
    v = ?_____________ s i x t y = 60
    w = ?_________ h u n d r e d = 100
    x = ?________ t h o u s a n d = 1000
    y = ? ___________m i l l i o n = 1000000
    z = ?___________ b i l l i o n = 1000000000

    Now this has a unique solution .. thanks
