Hi everyone, nice to meet you.
I am looking for some guidance in choosing a math course for the spring semester. I have completed all of my required math courses but I actually like math. More importantly, I have a feeling it will come in useful in a few years. I hope to work in genetics some day.
I am mostly interested in molecular aspects, so in a way it seems that the engineering side of math could be useful.
On the other hand, it seems like a clear understanding of statistics could help avoid reinvinting wheels.
While I do have the option of taking both that would be a pretty heavy course load. I still have a 4.0 right now and I'd like to keep it that way.
I'd really appreciate hearing from any of you what math concepts you feel are most beneficial. When I have a nice list I am going to ask the math chair which courses she feels would benefit the most.
I guess it would be helpful to know the current level-- I just finished Calc with analytical geometry 1.
Thanks in advance for any of your thouhts on the subject.
