1. Say I start off with a matrix A with entries a(ij) and a vector f(j), I want to create a matrix with entries f(j)*a(ij) for the entry at ij. Is there a matrix operation for doing this?

2.

3. I am not sure what exactly you are trying to do. If you multiply a matrix with a vector, you get a vector as a result. So what exactly is it you are looking for ?

4. Deleted post, made no sense. Can you tell me how to write matrices on this (and probably other) forums?

5. So you want a matrix of the form, .

As Markus Hanke already said, there are no matrix/vector operations that will give you the result you want.

Code for a Matrix: \left(\begin{array}{rcl}1&2&3 \\ 4&5&6 \\ 7&8&9\end{array}\right)

6. Okay thanks
