What would 1.1e+42 be in whole numbers? 1.1 followed by 42 zeros?
1.1e+42 is most likely a sloppy use of exponential notion, "E-notion." If so it should be 1.4E42, meaning 1.1 x 10^42. Note the capital E to distinguish it from Euler's constant which is usually denoted by a small "e."
I think some programming languages, evidently designed by engineers (that struggled through calculus...lol) rather than scientist, use small e which confuses things.
11 followed by 41 zeros.
How do we know it isn't 1.1 to the 42nd power? That's what most calculators would hand you if you typed something like that in.
