    So i'm taking a unit on Quantum and Condensed Matter physics and i have been asked to show the following,



    Where and are the position and momentum operators respectively.

    My question is, shouldn't the right hand side be equal to ?

    Ps. If anyone could tell me how to type 'h bar' in tex, so that the bar actually goes through the 'h' you would make me a moderately happy man.

    I am not at a level to help you with the equation itself, but hbar in tex is just a backslash and the word hbar, like this:

    [tex]\hbar[/ tex] ... which without any spaces will render like this:
