just out of curiosity, but a what kind or type of mathematics is the hardest to perform???? i know this might not have an exact answer, but does anyone have some sort of idea of what is the true advanced mathematics??
thankyou

I have no idea what the answer is...but my guess would be along the line of algebra
"Perform" is not a good verb, when it ocmes to mathematics.Originally Posted by Heinsbergrelatz
"Understand" or "create" are perhaps better.
There are many branches of mathematics. The level of interest and degree of difficult depend on the individual.
Your question as to what consitutes advanced mathematics has no single simple answer. You might take a look at the research interests of the faculty at lmajor research schools to get some idea. Such schools include (but are not limited to) UC Berkeley, Harvard, Yale, MIT, U of Chicago, and Princeton. You will find that those research interests are quite diverse.
A very broad list would include
Algebra
Analysis
Topology general and algebraic
Geometry algebraic and differential
Combinatorics
There are many subfields and many hybrid fields. Mathematics is not easily classified, and the fields are interrelated.
ah, as i expected the answers are obviously not distinct, yes i agree "understand" would be better.
yes i heard of this topological geometry also, but what actually is it????
