Cut back on the "sweet deals" links and insert more original content. That's probably the biggest piece of advice I could offer you. Looking at your blog, I see no purpose or niche that's obvious. You want to find a niche and make yourself a subject matter expert on it to the point that people will check in with you for information about that niche when they need it.

Book and product reviews are a good start. Personal experience is a good place to turn as well.

In addition, get rid of that Snap preview thing. Nobody really likes that. What happens is, people start to avoid hovering over your links because they don't want that stupid Snap box to populate. You don't want people's mouse pointers avoiding the links... you want them to click them.

A better mouseover would be a short description that pops. This is done pretty simply with html/css. But I'm not sure what level of access you might have to that in WP.

Another bit of advice would be to submit original content from your blog to one or more blog carnivals related to your field(s) of interest.

I'd recommend adding an "About" page. This is where you say a little about yourself, how to contact you (avoid direct email links, use something like cfeagans AT ahotcupofjoe DOT net -that way you avoid the spam), etc. Its also the place where you say what your blog is about and what focus it has.

Then try to live up to that focus. You say its about Science and Tech, but this is a REALLY broad spectrum of topics. You might narrow it down a bit. Check other Sci/Tech blogs and see what they do. Don't try to be engadget. They have a huge team of writers and insiders that get paid big $$ to get first-hand knowledge and interviews.

Better to find a science/tech topic that interests you most and focus on that. Let's say for instance that your interest is in lasers. You could sign up for an Eureka! Alert feed that gets you early news on science topics -maybe you can specify laser and optical technology. Or you can sign up for Google News Alerts for "Lasers" and "Optics" from which to build original content from. This sort of content would discuss the new technology and how it might impact society, etc.

You can also use a university, school or library access to science journals in fields that interest you to cover new studies or reports, summarizing and putting them into "layman's" terms -check out http://researchblogging.org/ and see what others are doing with this.
