Hi there! I have recently become extremely interested in science in general, each time I learn something I find myself intrigued and wanting to know more. Unfortunatly for me I paid no attention at school whatsoever and the subject of science in general is so huge!

I am on my quest for knowledge and I don't know where to start so I have come to this forum in hope of finding some suggestions, some nice people and to eventually become deply knowledgeable about all aspects of science.

If you come to this forum for knowledge, be very on guard. A lot of people here are off their rocker.

People to pay attention to: Ophiolite, River rat, Pendragon, marnixR, paralith, and maybe some others I'm forgetting...generally, those five are safe bets. But be sure to research _BEFORE_ you decide on anything, especially in a debate.

People you definitely shouldn't listen to include Harold, Daytonturner, TOR, And our very own group of creationist nut jobs and pseudoscientists.

The rest of them are neutral. Sometimes right, sometimes wrong. I'm in a class all my own :P . Hint: That class starts with an "i" and ends in "y".

Welcome to the forum, Ally! Nice to have you here
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, however, there is.

Hey I'm not on either of those! I'll take that as a compliment. Or am I on the barmy religious person list?

Anyway, welcome to the forum! Need anything on Physics I'm the man

Deeply knowledgeable about ALL aspects of science? Yikes, good luck with that one. I find it hard enough just to be deeply knowledgeably about my own field. Anyhow, I think Jeremy is giving me more credit than I deserve, but I'll definitely be happy to help you on your quest. Welcome to the forum.

And that, dear paralith, is why you're on the list.

Hello. What has inspired this sudden passion for science may I ask?
The most important thing I have learned about the internet is that it needs lot more kindness and patience.

I guess I fall in the neutral category. At least I am able to acknowledge it when I’m wrong! :x Some others just keep on stomping their feet, even though they are seriously wrong and glaringly so. Welcome.

well, the neutral category is a good one. There isn't much difference between that and the ones I said to listen to, minus the fact I trust the ones I listed more. Sorry :P

I'm not entirely sure, what it was I just found myself wanting to know what everything was made of and how things worked and it led from one thing to another.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome :-D
