I just realised and only noticed this section

I am SVWillmer, King of the Britons! Tremble at my contradictory style of science! MWHAHAHAHAHAH!

 Yea, I just felt like saying that, I don't really think that there is more to it than that. I'm sure you all know me by now. Especially YOU Jeremy, sunshine warrio and whomever likes to pick on me .

    Joking

Yea whatever I think I should stop now.

Look at it this way. If people are bothering to pick on you, they at least think that you're smart enough to improve given the right direction. Myself, once I see someone is a rather hopeless case, I just stop bothering. You can only do so much over anonymous forums.

so welcome anyway, even though we've already had discussions together. ^_^

I'm a bit anti-conformist when it comes to science, I'll never really go with the bandwagon of science-I like to use what exists and modify it.

When people are derogatory and stalking , it's rarely because they have a desire to teach you. It's more to do with their need to present themselves as superior and they can best demonstrate this on those who may lack the knowledge that they themselves presume to have.

I would say in some (not all) cases it stems from self loathing, insecurity and feelings of inadequacey.

If someone is stalking because they feel they have found an able student, they are generally fairly courteous and helpful, not condescending and rude.

Students floruish with teachers they 'like'. Likeability is something abusive stalkers on forums lack. No names mentioned. I've had the odd stalker and trust me.....I never ever took on board anything they said. In life I would not give these types the time of day and forums are no different.

If I follow posts here it's because there are only about 4 people posting!! So it may look like stalking, but really I just go where the action is.

Well, from what I've seen of sunshinewarrior's posts, he/she's never been obviously rude, and Jeremy - well, he does like to threaten to tear people's spines out and beat them with it for what he views as extreme stupidity, but even he stops altogether if he feels the person is beyond hope. I'll leave it up to personal judgment on what should or should not constitute "beyond hope," lol. And I don't think too many of us here are aiming to be teachers or mentors, but mostly to discuss things and maybe contribute to each other's knowledge, which isn't a role that requires likability.

Also, I don't think you're stalker-ish. You're just an enthusiastic poster. Nothing wrong with that.

It's all right. Anyway, the name should have been sunshinewarrior but the forum's fields aren't long enough for it! Just call me Shanks - it's shorter and easier to pronounce.

Of course I'm not going to agree with everything you say, and I'm sure there will be times when I appear exasperated - please forgive me for those. As Paralith pointed out, I get into discussions if I feel I can contribute, and generally shut up when it's over my head, or too tediously rambling over the same old arguments in a "You said" "No, you said" "No, you said and no returns" kind of way.

    Welcome.

    cheer

    shanks
