Thread: Let me introduce myself

Hi everyone, my interests are mainly in Philosophy and Politics while occasionally sneaking a peak at physics and astronomy. I'm into animal rights and believe we are all equal animals, creatures and humans alike. I believe as humans we can do better and look forward to when we do.

My background is mainly in neuroscience, but I did some research in animal behavior as well, so I second you on the interest in animal welfare. These days I'm no longer in the lab, but I write about biology and I love to learn about other fields of science.

Are you familiar with the two neurological receptors that SARS-CoV-2 also binds to?

I believe one is the nicotinic receptor, but cannot seem to find the reference for the other receptor. One or the other of these receptors may be involved in the loss of smell and taste on infection, as those indicate actions of the virus on neurons as opposed to actions at the ACE-2 receptor respiratory surfaces, for which it is most damaging.
