    Hi, guys.

I just joined this forum and thought I should introduce myself.
I'm a young male from Kurdistan (let us not get political here, as I'm sure there might be some guys on here who thinks "Kurdistan does not exist" or something). I have a lot of interests, among them Biology, Chemistry, Physics and politics.

I hope to expand my knowledge on here

    Best regards!

Since you stated that you are from "Kurdistan", you have made a political statement -- one I happen to agree with. There should be an independent, self-governed area for the Kurds -- preferably an independent country.

    Welcome to the forum.

Seems their should also be a separate section of land for the Sunni if the Kurds get their own. Welcome and enjoy the show.

    Welcome to the forum.
Thank you very much for your support! Appreciate it!
It wasn't my intention to start a political debate here, but I just don't consider myself as part of or from any of the 4 countries (Turkey, Iraq, Iran and Syria).

And thanks for the warm welcome

I agree. Iraq should be divided into three autonomous areas -- instead of the current and arbitrary WW1/WW2 era divisions

My pleasure. This is a pretty good science forum.

Indeed, the sunni arabs should also get their own autonomous region/independent state, just not under IS control. If the Sunnis get a guarantee of that from Baghdad (and get the international community to back such an idea) I'm sure many of the current tribes fighting with IS would take up arms against them.

    Thank you for the welcoming!

    Sorry, but I have to ask . . .

I know the Kurds are actively fighting ISIS/ISIL/IS . . . are you close to the dangerous areas? I hope you and your family are safe from this new fighting.

To be honest, I'm not currently living in Kurdistan (even tho I am there sometimes in periods of 2-3 months). I do however have family members in Peshmerga fighting IS. Fortunately, all of them remain healthy.
I do know of many friends and acquaintances that have been injured or killed due to this conflict (some of which are civilians that have been killed/injured by car bombs in Kerkuk, but most of them as a result of fighting on the frontline in Jalawla). Wish for a fast recovery for the wounded and peace for the dead.

I wish for peace for that whole area . . . for the whole world, really. Once again, welcome.

(BTW, your English is better than most Americans.)

    Thank you for the compliment!

I wish for the same, my friend.
