I'm 44. Gotta say, as a parent and a human on the planet, I am thrilled to see so many young people interested in this topic! Stay sceptical and rational!

Yes, count that as my introduction. Writing "hi, i'm new here etc." feels a bit pointless to me. I don't want another wasted thread, though I'm sure it's a bit too late for that.

It turns out that Gene Autry had had a hit with ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” in 1949, and he had followed it with “Frosty the Snowman” in 1950. So I imagine everybody was falling over themselves in 1951 to produce the next holiday classic. “Suzy” was Rosemary Clooney’s entry. Other than a few Youtube posters who write that they listened to it thousands of times and it changed their lives, I think it’s safe to say it didn’t leave a big dent in the popular culture (contrary to the old saw that ‘There’s no accounting for taste’, actually you can account for popular taste merely by tallying up the sales).

Many moons have past and the buffalo herds have wandered in and out since my birth. The eagle has had 28 new nests since I can remember and the bear has had 12 cubs. That is my age.

Do you folks realize that at post #227 someone revived this thread which started in 2007? It's had sporadic responses over the years, but post #226 is dated July 7th, 2011.

This is the second time today I have notified the members that they are barking up an old tree. I have no intention of making this a special service that I perform. Please, everyone, check the date of the posts you are responding to. The OP is long gone and seven years older than he was when he asked his question.

I have noticed the date on some of the threads lately but if it is in an introductory or community forum, I do not see the harm in it. My thoughts are that those who reopen it are likely to respond. If not, it sinks back to the bottom.
