Hello from the biology lab

Hi,

My name is Jessica and I work as a lab manager in the Dept. of Biological Sciences at a small university in the Midwestern US. I am also working on a thesis M.S. in Biological Science studying the evolution and development of the dermal skeleton. As a lab manager I am responsible for maintaining equipment and our bacteria and mold culture collection as well as making everything needed for all the intro biology, microbiology, molecular biology as well as anatomy and physiology and ecology labs taught here. I am very interested in biology education and help to develop and test new teaching lab protocols for our department. I also act as a judge in Science Olympiad.

When I'm not in the lab I like to read, bake and play video games. I'm particularly fond of Skyrim, Mario Kart and old school SNES games.

Well hello there Jessica.

Nice introduction, sounds like you will be possitive new addition for the forum. If I indeed remember correctly there are also a few other members here who have also enjoyed being judges for science competitions and certainly many members have a strong interest in biology so I sure you will fit right in.
