Thread: Hello everyone!

Hello i am new here =D I would like to ask one question to clarify. This is regarding shape memory polymers.

If the polymer used heat to return to its original shape would it be possible to catalyze the reaction (assuming that it is an actual chemical reaction which i am not actually sure if it is after trying to look this up)?

So can anyone please answer to help me understand these polymers better ? Thank you!

I’m no expert in such things but I don’t think there’s any chemical reaction involved. Change of shape is a physical change, not a chemical one.
