Hello i am not actually a student to science but private interrested in any kind of human breakthrough in terms of understanding the world

What other methods are reliable to understand the world, other than science?

I came to a point in my life ,i am 32, where i react to any conscious part of my body, that means any physiological action or reaction, and any action that is going on in my psyche.
I don't deny any thought that any human has ever generated. When communicated it's part of the world. But i was living 6 years untreated with paranoid schicophrenic disease, and then 5 years treated. And have a very very good understanding of how to distinguish reality and fantasy. That's why i came to science as something that is dealing with undenyable facts.
