Thread: Das Uber n00b

Hey everyone, my name is Chris. I'm a software engineer in Maryland by trade but I'm a fan of other sciences as well, mainly physics and the application of physics in the form of mechanical engineering. My hobbies reflect this as it usually includes modifying cars and motorcycles (which, to me, is an exhilarating first hand experience of physics and chemistry in action) as well as sci-fi movies/books/video games. I hope I will be able to contribute to this forum in some way, but (selfishly) I know that I will at least be able to learn from you guys.

What exactly did you mean by that? By n00b did you mean "nube". It still doesn't make sense.

Hi!

Noob is short for newbie, which is short for new member, and is often used to suggest naivety or inexperience. I imagine the OP is using uber to mean "super", "ultimate" or "greatest", possibly in an ironic context. Perhaps they should have used "der" or "die" instead of "das"? It has been a long time since I tried to study the german language at school.

Oh, wow, that escaped me. I was thinking "nube" as in "get pwned nube". I guess I didn't know the roots of that term.
