First, it is very difficult to introduce yourself, as topologists here might have noticed. I can however introduce myself to the people here.

I am 47, french, geologist by training. I work in the oil and gas industry. I live in West Africa, presently in Nigeria, Lagos.

My point of interest: geology obviously, artificial intelligence and Machine learning, risk and uncertainties modeling, linguistic, philosophy and the Mayas. I love cross domain research. For example, I am presently using machine learning algorithms to model rock facies in order to minimize drilling uncertainties and calculate these uncertainties and ultimatly the risk (cost). It's fascinating.

I am a bit crazy also with computer games. Yes, don't laugh, especially role playing and adventure games. I actually wrote some in the 80's to pay my studies.
I love travelling, I love Africa and latine America. Actually, I am partially from Caribbean.

Voila, you will find more about me later. Good and bad side.

And welcome aboard. This, of course, from a brand new person here!

I am responding because I am going to introduce myself also, momentarily, and I always remember the old saying, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

So I am replying to your introduction, and also hoping that someone will respond to mine.

I hope I am being logical!

Maybe I am being superstitious? :?

Anyway, hello from the U.S. and welcome aboard the discussion forum.

Welcome to Makandal - I am also a geologist by training, but not by occupation, and also in the oil industry, though not Nigeria. Though I do know Lagos and Wari and Port Harcourt and the Chevron base at Coatzocoalcos.

Welcome to Clyde, whose name I like since I was born and raised on an island in the Firth of Clyde, in Scotland.

Welcome to Windy 138, who, like my wife, is from Singapore, where I lived for eight years. (And which is presently only a forty minute flight from my hotel room here in Kuala Lumpur.)

I look forward to interacting with all of you.
