Hey all! I joined this site because I'm interested in science. :-D I'm also interested in reading the Harry Potter books of J.K. Rowling. Indeed I'm in love with the minor character Luna Lovegood.

I've always wondered if there are any connections between the laws of the science and the magical events described in the Harry Potter novels. :? Hopefully I shall find some answers on this site.

Hi Sol Hatebad (what a name! why did you pick that one??)

Well I like Harry Potter too and magic!

The magic in Harry Potter is more far fetched than realistic unfortunately.

Real Magic is 'causing change and effect' through the will.

I don't think anything is impossible, but i do think it takes a lot of training and a lot of evolving to actually affect objects at will. Although there is a lot of evidence that certain gifted people have this capability - Uri Geller for example.

(Wow lets now wait for the cynics to yell - prove it, Uri Geller was a fake! Well no he wasn't actually, there have been numerous scientific experiments with Uri which have left scientists rubbing their chins and wondering)
Absum! has never been bored in her life, but is becoming increasingly bored of the Science Forum! :?
