Hi,
Currently, i am searching the idea how to develop hyperspectral sensing image to map mineral in tropical areas. As we know that, highly covered vegetation is one of the major problem.
Surely, there is some of chance to develop this technology find out the mineral beneath it.
My thinking would be target an area with varied geology and vegetation and try to find a link. This is not without precedent as geologists have used aerial photos for this very purpose for decades.
What sort of sensing technique are you thinking of? I would be tempted to start with visible light and develop a program to identify key features of lithology such as mineral resistance and its relation to relief.
