Before the Roman Empire (I assume) designated the planets with Roman (Greekish) Gods, how were Mars and Venus named by what ever European tribes had a name for them. (there might be multiple designations in various dialects, but does any particular have survived history so that we can say, some tibes called Mars "..." and called Venus "..." ?
(BTW did Greeks call Mars with the equivalent god Ares, and Venus with the greek equivalent Aphrodites?)
