Sounds like you're connecting the stories of Gods and their Vimanas to the idea of them actually being aliens.. To my knowledge there is no story about aliens that came out of Ancient India.

Some of the vedas describe "vimana". Vehicles or chariots of some sort that were able to fly. Whether it was just fanciful stuff like the chariot of Apollo in Greek literature, or meant to describe a technology the Gods possessed is debatable, but they are plainly described as flying in the air.

No clear reason it couldn't have been aliens, but it could also be pure imagination, or a terrestrial technology (maybe some ancient alchemist figured out how to make a zeppelin or hot air balloon........ or just hot air..)

Some ancient Indian texts do describe sort of flying vehicles and there are references to kind of nuclear weapons being used to wipe out huge amounts of people, being hurled from these vessels in the ancient Indian Sanskrit epic, the Mahabharata.

Aliens have been invading India for centuries.
History of India - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Almost all of the subcontinent was conquered by the Maurya Empire during the 4th and 3rd centuries BCE.
Muhammad bin Qasim conquered Sindh and Multan in southern Punjab in modern day Pakistan,[4] setting the stage for several successive invasions from Central Asia between the 10th and 15th centuries CE, leading to the formation of Muslim empires in the Indian subcontinent such as the Delhi Sultanate and the Mughal Empire
Beginning in the mid-18th century and over the next century, large areas of India were gradually annexed by the British East India Company.

I lean towards hot air machines or lighter than air machines. I have no problem believing these texts concerning these flying machines and many cultures throughout the world tell Us that people/gods came to them from the sky.

Of course the fact that no one wants to give the people who created these flying machines any credit for anything at all leads to some folks believing in an "ancient alien" theory... After all, if the Vedas are a lie and they ignore the Aryans in the equation then it must have been aliens... What else and who else could it be?
