Could I get a history of Muslims in China. Where did they come from? What did they do in China? Were they communist or nationalist? How are they today? Is Islam a principal religion in China?

I think many times chinese people looks like they would be a unified nation and all would have the same roots. But there are many ethnic groups and tribes. I think there are many different dialects and even languages. So in the western China people's root are more close to the nations in the Middle Asia than in the eastern China. In the west main religion is islam. But I saw a document about jews and I was amazed when there was told that even in China is a old jews community and their roots was in Israel.
