How to mitigate zinc poisoning, given a diet too heavy in zinc?

Iron and calcium negate zinc somewhat..? Should these be taken at maximum daily? Copper deficiency caused by zinc? So, take copper too? Anything else? How does zinc leave the body?

From my lab training a thousand years ago I seem to recall that excess zinc, as with many metals, is excreeted in the urine.

    Found this: http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/art...?artid=1266854

It may be of use. Good luck.

    ...

Apparently zinc level in urine is nearly constant regardless of variable ingestion (e.g. overdose). Even subjects given massive doses had urine zinc comparable to tapwater. The zinc fouls up digestion, and most exits in feces.

So it appears the body does a good job rejecting ingested zinc.
