well i've got my second wisdom tooth going through my gums at the moment and i've wondered, why do i only have two wisdom teeth thus far? or why don't they all grow out at the same time?

or why would a person have wisdom teeth on one side of their mouth and not the other?

I don't know why this happens but seems to be quite a common phenomenon. Admittedly my wisdom teeth are still forming, but I only have one in the top-right corner of my mouth and one in the bottom-left corner. Just a slight glitch in the gene pool I guess.

Speaking of this matter are we suppose to take out our wisdom teeth once they're fully grown or just let them stay o.O?

They only need to be removed if there's no room in your mouth and they're crowding the other teeth... Now they're actually looking for wisdom teeth with x-rays and if they're there they'll remove them before they grow roots and break the gums, and it's less of a big deal that way I guess. At least that's how it went for me.

My son has no wisdom teeth. never has. I consider it evolution in action. I of course tell him he's a mutant and his children will be born with the ability to suck the life out of people. (as all children do)

They're probably more variable than the rest of our teeth because the selection pressure on them has been lifted. It's been a long time since humans needed those teeth.
Man can will nothing unless he has first understood that he must count on no one but himself; that he is alone, abandoned on earth in the midst of his infinite responsibilities, without help, with no other aim than the one he sets himself, with no other destiny than the one he forges for himself on this earth.
    ~Jean-Paul Sartre
