I have been wondering is aromatheropy is actually healing or is it just mental thought.I mean sure it smells good but does it really help the body?

I'm sure it has its positive effects, as with many stress relievers, but I don't know if any studies have been done to prove just how positive.

If you're looking for bonafide medical research on any topic just point your webbrowser to www.pubmed.com. In this case search for aromatherapy[title] to get a bunch of papers on this subject.

I figure anything that can relax you and remove stress can't be all that bad.
Then again if the aroma is somehow toxic to the body the long term effects could outweigh the beneficial results
Overall I would say this is not the case and that the relaxing effects are a good thing.

I doubt however it's going to be much better then other forms of relaxation like a good massage.
Pleased to meet you. Hope you guess my name

I wouldn't go so far as to say "anything", I'm pretty sure however most relaxing activities are good for the body and mind. This of course wouldn't count sleeping for excessive periods of time which can lead to depression and other health problems. We'll have to see if we have any experts in the forum to follow up more on this. I don't think sitting on the couch eating Bon Bon's would qualify as a healthy relaxing activity either

As they say, everything in moderation.

I have found that many scents cause many different reactions with me. Also, psychologically speaking, I believe that one can be convinced that something works and then it actually does..........the mind is an awesome organ like that.

So... Would video games count! :P They relax me, so could they count as a stress reliever?

I don't think that qualifies as good for your body. But if it relaxes you it might help you in a way. If your body is too stressed out it might not function properly. Take it from me I know. :P
