Hello, I have a question about floaters in my eye. I know what they are, they are bits of dead potassium that float around in your eye and there were other explanations too but my concern is that I have the black floaties but i also have white transparent ones too and i searched the web for them to but i could not find anything so I drew a picture of one.

heres link http://img377.imageshack.us/my.php?i...tiecopyxd0.jpg picture is not to scale and is not 100% accurate. I would take a picture of it if I could but its kind of hard when its in my eye floating around.

So my concern is well i dont know what it is either its another kind of floater or if its something else?

Yep eye get them too, they seem to look like segmented worms sometimes with fantails but at my age I have other things to worry about....

Thank you for your cognizance. I guess I am just paranoid. Its good to know that I am not the only who has it.

Just out of experience I find that when you are under stress there seem to be more of them.

But anyway thank you your relieved some of my stress.

What's the difference between a live and a dead protien? To me this is a rhetorical question because it would be obvious that neither are alive or dead. To be dead would have to once be alive and to be alive would have to once be dead. Since it is neither of these it can not be either of these....

Had to vent there, sorry. I think you mean that the protien no longer plays a role in the poorly defined process that we call life.

I agree with you on the protein part. This has nothing to do with the topic but when you said "to be alive (something, someone, whatever) would have to be once dead."

From my understanding it would be non existing not dead because in order to die you have to be alive like you said.

I was told it's just dust particles.. or random stuff. It's pretty normal... I like to look at them when I'm sitting on a field gazing at a blue sky...

very good drawing, btw. It looks so much like one, lol.

I have tried to count them, I think I have about 12 they seem to increase in number with age, I'm not sure they are 'dust particles though as it's eyemovement and not blinking that sets them moving, I guess from this they are floeating around inside the eye. I think also it will be only the ones that are close to the retina that you 'see'.

Really?! Did you just not worry about them and they went away? I find that I get more when I am stressed and I have a very heavy course load this semester, so mabye when I am done this semester they will go away because I will not be stressed =D yay I can't wait.

yea they will probly go away. but if you think the reason you are getting them is because you are stressed then that is probably what it is..i wouldnt doubt it.

They never go away, you just look through them and forget about them, but they are there, lurking, just waiting for the opportunity, don't drop your guard or they'll get you...

Well I tell it like it is, so if you are serious, be careful what questions you ask in public. The real point is, everybody has them to some extent, they are harmless, and usually only noticed when you look for them.
