So not that I'm looking to die soon or anything, but I am interested in donating what I do have eventually. I have multiple diseases, all of which are incurable, some progressed far past what is normal, and all apparently unrelated. All developed throughout my life, no strange jungle diseases or anything, and I wanted to know what the very best school or program would be interested in something like this.

    Thoughts?

Check with your local hospital and then find a teaching medical school if the hospital doesn't help.

Please do not judge the forum by the rude, thoughtless, offensive behaviour of one foolish member.

Presumably you have seen a variety of medical professionals in relation to these diseases. Would they not be an appropriate place to start your search?

Quite a conclusion you jumped to there based on one post (which happened to be after some suggestions, which maybe you ignored).

Come on Matt, the post from precious siraj was highly offensive. Place yourself in Kelsey's place: I think you would be hurt by such a comment. I certainly would and it would, temporarily at least, outweigh the couple of suggestions that had been offered.

I feel your post comes dangerously close to adding insult to injury. Kelsey is the offended party here. Please rethink your post.

His (or her) post was certainly offensive and uncalled for, so I'm happy to see the ban. However, I don't see it as an excuse to act irrationally, and I don't see anything wrong with my original post.

Okay, well the original point of my post was to assist future persons with such diseases, remember they are currently incurable. I mentioned them because I wanted a medical school specifically dedicated to studying diseases, and these are non-contagious.

And no, I've found a surprisingly overwhelming amount of ignorance and shoulder shrugs among the doctors I have seen, and none have been willing to work with me for long periods of time, simply because they don't think anything is related to the other. They have no answers, and so no interest. My own research has brought me more information than all the doctors tests combined.

What I'm asking is a very personal, painful admission that I may not live long enough to find a cure for anything, but with the advances in science recently I would be more than happy to help out in some way. It's not every day that a person comes along with multiple rare and incurable diseases, and I want it to go to use.

Local hospitals and medical schools have been flops, I am not interested in having my body decomposed and found later for a murder scene, and I still don't understand the last one, so pardon if I am not impressed by the responses. I was more exasperated than upset.

It's hard to say anything without you elaborating on your condition(s), but is there anyone pursuing a cure/treatment? You could try helping even before you pass away by participating in a clinical trial or something like that.

As you've researched the diseases somewhat yourself you must have read articles on them in the medical journals. Could you not write to the authors of relevant papers explaining your situation and your intentions? That might work.

I am sorry to learn that you have multiple incurable diseases, Kelsey, and I think it is very noble of you to be thinking of what good might come from what science may learn from your remains, when that time comes. As some others have suggested, perhaps your current attending physicians may have some suggestions to offer on this subject of donation.

Meanwhile, we could also hope that science is able to find ways to induce remission for your diseases so that even if cure is not possible, that life remains preferable to the alternative.

Welcome to the forum and I will watch for your posts.

A quick search turns up this link for Canada. http://www.mcscs.jus.gov.on.ca/engli..._donation.html

It looks like a search for schools of anatomy might be a good starting point.

    Hey Kelsey

Very sorry to hear this, always pains my heart when someone can't be helped by modern medicine. My father has some incurable afflictions, none of the actually affect his overall health, it just paralyses him, throws off his motor skills, uncontrollable muscles all over.

However, your intentions are good, which is hopeful. I am pretty sure you already know that there are experimental drugs, which can aid in this.

The curious part inside me wants to know what you have though..

    Cheers, and good luck.
Growing up, i marveled at star-trek's science, and ignored the perfect society. Now, i try to ignore their science, and marvel at the society.

Imagine, being able to create matter out of thin air, and not coming up with using drones for boarding hostile ships. Or using drones to defend your own ship. Heck, using drones to block energy attacks, counterattack or for surveillance. Unless, of course, they are nano-machines in your blood, which is a billion times more complex..

    Hello!
Itīs very admirable what you want to do. Weīll try to help you the best way we can.

Iīm pretty sure that there are doctors that will help you. Some of them may even work with research groups. You only have to keep searching for them,. The thing is... it may not be pleasant going from hospital to hospital. Besides I donīt know where you live. May be you are form a little town or you canīt move too much.
But if you want us to help you find hospitals or reasearch groups, you should talk to us about your disease. That would be very helpful.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Bye!
