For the last couple of days I've had a slight pain where my inner thigh meets the pelvis. When standing straight, and especially when leaning backwards, a bump protrudes. It isn't red, same color as skin, just a bump about .5" in diameter, and a bit over an inch long. It is hard to the touch, the hardness and feel most closely resembles a tendon. When I touch it, it hurts very little, like a day old bruise. I was thinking that perhaps this is a hernia? But, I've never heard of one happening so low, nor have I done any strenuous exercise to cause one. It hasn't gotten worse, but has only been around for a couple days. Any ideas what this could be? Simply hoping it isn't something serious. Thanks.

There are lymph nodes in that area but as far as I am aware they would all be swollen. Could just be a cyst. But whatever anyone tells you on here hun it will be a best guess - get yourself to the doctor and have it looked at. That's the only way you can find out for sure what it is....and don't wait so you can worry about it for days...ring them on Thursday when they are open.

Best of luck - have a wonderful New Year :-)

Probably an infected lymph node. I've had them before, too. They get really big and really painful until they drain. As with any suspicious lump, it's worth getting it checked out. If nothing else, maybe they can give you some antibiotics. Mine lasted over a week and was pretty painful.

As Flick said, it's probably a lymph node, I've had them myself and they went away in a week or so but best to get it checked out with the medics.

I found a lump once but determined it was only a hemorrhoid.

As Luci said, get thee to a doctor.

Asking for medical advice on a forum is not a good idea, and you are likely to end up with a lot of conflicting and inexpert opinions. Any medical problem needs direct investigation by a medical doctor.

Agreed, I'm going to the doctor this friday, was just looking for something to stave off the paranoia.

Sometimes I think we ask for advice not because we're going to take it, but just for insight for medical things. We should always see a doctor but info gathered from others often gives us insight as to questions to ask!

That's a wise point Babe. And reminding people not to believe everything they read on forums is kinda insulting to their intelligence.

It sounds like you have a Pernicious Leg Lump of Agony and Death.
    It is incurable.
tbh: I am not confident that you will live long enough to see this message.

But if you do: can I have your stuff?

    How's your paranoia doin'?
