I'm doing some dabbling around making my own tooth paste, I am using coconut oil, a little baking soda, castile soap, and a little xylitol (sweetener). The problem I'm having is that it has a weird texture as a liquid form, so I would like to try to solidify it into a bar. Right now with the coconut oil being the main ingredient by percentage, I can get the mixture to solidify by sticking it in the fridge but then of course it will melt when left out for a while. My main goal is to keep glycerin out of the recipe and keep it gluten free, I have tried adding a little coconut flour and it seems to thicken and keep solid longer when frozen but still after time it will melt down. does anyone have an Idea of a good healthy safe permanent solidifier?
