I was thinking that totally changing a culture would not be possible.
what would you call a total change??? and why would you want that?

A total change would be wiping the slate clean and starting over. You ask why would I want that, I was not advocating a total change. We could create some new features though. I think the question would have to be, where do we want to go.

Why are talking about appearance in response to a sub-thread about culture? And sorry to break it to you, but genetically we are all pretty close to our distant relatives...probably going back to about a bottleneck of human population ~70,000 years ago, which seems related to Toba Supervolcanic eruption. Humans have a relatively narrow genetic range compared to most other mammals as a result.

That is true; however, you did not change overnight, but little by little. My view of culture is that once it becomes ingrained, it is very hard to change except in small increments. You know, the depth of the grove depends on the age of the practice. You can picture how a grove gets cut.

Than why are you talking about looking like you grandpa? Do you mean the wool hat and britches (scratches....) he wore? Dress up any person from 70,000 years ago in modern clothes and you wouldn't take a second look if they passed you on the street.

Than why did you say you meant cultural? You are making no sense at all. Do you understand the difference between your genetic morphology and what your environment might change after conception?

BK, I think there is a slight mix up between the physical face of culture, and the culture itself. The culture is a behavioral pattern.
