I was told that if there is condensation in a closed plastic container it can be poisonous. I have no idea where the person got the idea and they seemed, to me, to be a total hippie (like zelos :P). I tried looking it up and can't find anything. They brought it up when buying a pie that had some condensation in the container because it had been previously frozen. They almost didn't buy it. I can't think of any reason why condensation would be poisonous because of plastic.

Has anyone heard of this or is this person just completely crazy?

If it's condensation then it should be pure water as I remember from chemistry, [maybe wrong though], condensation suggests that the pie [or whatever] was at some time hotter than the wrapper, fine if it's just been cooked and packed, as it is more likely to still be sterile(ish) BUT if the condensate is the product of it being re-heated a few times then it could harbout bacteria which has grown. If it's a joint of meat then placing it in the freezer would cool the plastic, as the air cools so any moisture in it will condense out, and onto the coldest surface available, likely the plastic as the mass of meat will retain heat longer...

    UNless anyone else knows different.

Well the pies are pre-cooked and then kept frozen. We let it thaw before selling and obviously give it an expiration date. It does not need to be reheated and has no previous exposure to bacteria before we let it thaw (since it was frozen). I'm thinking this person must have heard a rumor from someone who heard a rumor kind of thing and really has no idea what they were talking about. They didn't give me any explanation at all and I did ask for one. It was one of those everything (glutin, yeast, eggs, etc.) free pies (that taste like garbage) so I'm thinking I may be dealing with a paranoid hypocondriac or somethin.

    P.S.

    No offense intented
