Hey
I need to make sure that I've got correct knowledge of this stuff, so if someone could tell me whether the following information is correct or not and if I'm missing something essential, that would be excellent. I'm interested in the effects on brain functions, not other body. So here we go:
Tea (especially green)
Contains antioxidants (catechins) that act as MAO-B and COMT inhibitors; contains L-Theanine
L-Theanine
Increases GABA and dopamine; influences serotonin levels in unknown ways
Rhodiola Rosea
Contains antioxidants that act as COMT and non-selective MAO inhibitors
Piperine
Enhances the bioavailibility of numerous substances (especially curcumin); has anti-depressive and cognition enhancing effects not well understood
Curcumin
Has anti-depressive and cognition enhancing effects not well understood; also acts as a non-selective MAO inhibitor
Olive leaf
Contains hydroxytyrosol that acts as a MAO-B inhibitor (+ other effects on dopamine?)
No need for in-depth analyses - just correcting of mistakes and so on. Thanks!![]()
