    Hi:

Let's say I take a magic pill that completely, instantly, and permanently shuts down all my inflammatory and pro-inflammatory systems but does not directly affect my anti-inflammatory systems. What will be the drawbacks?

    Thanks,

    GX

You'll be cured of all the diseases that are due to overactivity of the immune system, such as autoimmune diseases, but you'll die of infections. No idea how long you'd last. A few weeks, maybe. Maybe less.

Aren't most fatalities associated with septicemia due to massive clotting of blood cause by the inflammatory response to the infection?

Without inflammation, the chances of disseminated intravascular coagulation are rather slim. Right?

Well, my knowledge of the subject of disseminated intravascular coagulation caused by an immune response is zero, so I wouldn't know. Why are we suddenly talking about the very specific topic of septicemia, when your original question was asking about general inflammation, which underlies almost every communicable and non-communicable disease?

without the clotting what is to prevent you from bleeding out?

He's talking about clotting within blood vessels.

Still any sort of injury, internal or external would result in uncontrolled bleeding if there is no clotting.

Inflammation is a vital response to infection. Without inflammation, the immune system would work very poorly if at all.

In other words, as Yonza said, you would die.

Which currently-existing medication comes closest to have the anti-inflammatory properties of my magic pill? I'm looking for something that does not raise blood pressure [no steroids or corticosteroids]. NSAIDs have the drawback of irritating the GI and causing it to bleed, so I can't use this either.

Are IMSAIDs best for my purpose?

AFAIK, IMSAIDs don't have any toxic or undesireable affects? Am I right?

Nothing is best for your purpose, and you should be talking with trained medical professionals about your urges at body modification.
