It's not necessarily about recipes, it's about reading labels and once you do that you will realize how many things actually have wheat in them. For example you can't have 99% of soy sauce products. Most soy sauce is contaminated. Another thing that is almost always contaminated is oats.

Also, I'm not sure how old you are, but if you are over 21, avoid tequila. Agave in tequila will often react with many gluten intolerant people. I guess it is in the same family.

Read everything, buy stuff that is gluten-free. Eat clean vegetables, stay away from bread, cookies, etc.

So, basically if one is not intolerant of wheat we can just disregard your thread. Gotcha. Great discussion items.

I dont know about the rest of it but Agave and wheat are not the same plant families. Wheat is in the Poaceae (grass) family, while Agave is in the Asparagaceae (Asparagus) family.

Yeah sorry about that, I was trying to reply to something else, accidentally posted a new thread. Someone was among about gluten intolerance. Beyond that, not exactly sure why, yes agave and gluten are of different species but many people with celiac disease comment on cross reactivity between the two. Not sure the science, just what many successes say.

If you are not intolerant to gluten, gluten is a useful addition to your protein requirements. I bake my own bread, and deliberately add gluten flour. Great stuff!
