Sleep Alternatives...
Anyone have any effective ideas of getting good well rested sleep? i'm a insomniac. Lately i've relied on sleeping aides (sominex, unisom, sleep pm botanicals, etc).
i wish i had a awesome lavender garden (or aerogarden) for herbal aromatherapy, warm milk+sugar, vanilla, and tea that melt your soul into wonderful euphoria (not spiked with drugs or anything... just all natural gorgeous tea, like earl grey tea.).
any pointers on helping a poor soul get relaxing well rested sleep, thus having pleasant dreams?...
man, a hot herbal bubble bath before sleep would totally do wonders (echinacea bubble lather = really relaxing+stimulating, lavender lather, and vanilla... )

Heavy exercise and energy expenditure throughout the day.

Excercise. Try to do some cardio/weight lifting. It makes sleeping a lot easier for me.

I know it sounds stupid but sleep at night or at least simulate it. Your body is attuned to associating light with being awake. Google circadium rhythm if you like. Anyway get yourself a good set of blackout curtains, something that really darkens the bedroom. It's a refreshing change.

There is such as thing as sleep hygeine - google it after circadian rhythm. Basically things like going to bed and waking up roughly same time every day. Only use your bed for sleep. Exercise through the day, but not before going to bed. Get into a routine before sleeping (reading or having a bath, whatever),etc...
Are you working shifts?
